Kosta Boda Catwalk 8.5" Vase is one of a line of artistic vases designed by famed Swedish artist Kjell Engman.

In his Catwalk line, Swedish designer Kjell Engman transfers both his wit and his interest in the fashion world onto a series of sculptural glass vases.

The shortest of the collection at 6-5/8 inches, this freeform white vase is just wide enough to hold candies or nuts as a bowl as well as a bouquet of short-stemmed tulips.

On the side of the vase you'll see a pair of female legs, depicted from dress hem to jauntily pointed shoes. A conversation starter if ever there was one.

One of my favorite selections is the Kosta Boda Hearts Ornament that measures 2-3/4 inches.

The Hearts collection by Swedish artist Ulrica Hydman-Vallien is one of Kosta Boda's most endearing.

As with other Hearts pieces, such as plates, bowls, and stemware, this artist-initialed glass disk ornament is hand-painted with a joyful heart design.

The bright red heart is outlined boldly in black, garnished with green and aqua brush strokes that lend a folksy, almost cartoon-like sense of animation.

The attached red ribbon allows you to hang the ornament from an indoor tree, window, or even around your neck as a medallion or pendant.

To create the luminous millefiori designs, artisans fuse together canes of multicolored glass, then slice them crosswise. Mannheim Steamroller - The Christmas Angel: A Story on Ice This is a 1998 Christmas album by the band Mannheim Steamroller, their fifth Christmas album released. The soundtrack accompanied by the narration of Chip Davis and Olivia Newton-John reveals the story of a decorative angel that is stolen from the top of a Christmas tree by a villain called the Gargon.

The toys under the tree will not become presents until the angel is found. With the toys' help, a young mother defeats the Gargon and Christmas is saved. This tale of good versus evil takes place in a magical land where toys come to life and evil is transformed into good. What makes The Christmas Angel especially entertaining is the combination of graceful skating by such well-known talents as Dorothy Hamill and Elvis Stojko and the emotive music of Mannheim Steamroller.

The story tells of an evil gargoyle named Gargon (Stojko) who steals the Christmas angel (Tonia Kwiatkowski) from atop a snowy village's Christmas tree, thereby preventing the arrival of Christmas. A young mother (Hamill), along with a host of toys-come-to-life, follows Gargon into the dark otherworld in an attempt to rescue the stolen angel. In the end, the angel is freed along with a host of lost souls and Christmas is saved.

We think of angels at Christmas because angels delivered the news of the birth of the Christ child.

Heavenly Christmas angel, Gabriel, was God’s messenger to Mary revealing that she was chosen to bear God’s son. Another heavenly angel told Joseph that he would marry Mary and care for the Christ child.

A small group of tiny ‘newbie’ angels, were chosen by God to watch over Joseph and Mary on their journey to Bethlehem. Perhaps because they were ‘newbie’ Christmas angels, they could find no shelter in the crowded inn, but found room in the inn’s stable.

In addition to the Christmas tree, ornaments, and lighting, Christmas Angels are a necessity in our household. I'm particularly fond of the Willow Tree line of angels. Are Christmas Angels a necessity for your holiday tradition?

These fabulous conical trees infused with wisps of color come from Kosta Boda's Atoll line. While intended for the winter holiday season, the works of art actually make superb collector's gifts at any time of year. Who wouldn't appreciate the beauty of a conifer tree, stylized in a modern form, sitting on a desk as a daily reminder of the natural world?

This small, 5-1/2-inch Atoll tree comes in the traditional holiday color choices of dark green, red, and white, and also a lively lime green. Welcome to the Decorative Gallery of All Joyful Things Marjolein Bastin and a lot of joy! Each Christmas Holiday Season, we bring down our bins of Christmas collectibles and decorations from our attic. Over the years, we have amassed many decorative items that have precious memories.

It is because of one such decoration that I have written this tribute page to The Decorative Gallery of All Things Marjolein Bastin! My favorite Christmas decoration, that I treasure over all the rest, has the signature of Marjolein Bastin. It is the Hallmark Joy Santa Candle Holder from the Nature's Sketchbook line. I treasured the JOY so much that I bought a second one that I have showcased on top of my fireplace mantel.

Looking at the beautiful line of Marjolein Bastin, I feel an unbridled form of JOY -- joy in its purest sense. Let's see if you too can experience some unbridled joy!
