To help you put a little zen, or good design into your presentations, I have spotlighted a couple of books that will get you started on the right track to good design and a moment of zen!

Whether or not you are a designing woman or man, presentation zen design can help with great graphic design tips!

Get it from the expert, Garr Reynolds, THE presentation designer and "internationally acclaimed communications expert."

P.S. Presentation Zen Design is brought to you today on the "New York" theme as the "Moment of Zen" design theme is lacking a bit of Zen lately! Ah, tell me truly ... does it NOT feel like a moment of ZEN today with the presentation zen and the calming presentation of this page design?

Presentation Zen Design - Yes or No? Can you dig it? Have you found Presentation Zen Design yet?
  • Yes, I love this book!
  • It's on my must-read list.
  • Nope, don't need a moment of zen.
THE BOOK!

A Review: "There's so much good stuff here that it's hard to figure out where to begin. Reynolds advocates for a departure from the ordinary style of presentation involving PowerPoint. You've all sat through those (or given them)... Pages of slides, chock full of text, gratuitous use of special effects, etc.

Presentation Zen is more about simplicity and storytelling. Your slides should support *you*, the speaker. If someone can get all the information from your slides, why do they need you? Your slides should not overwhelm the audience, but should draw their attention to the point that you are making in your talk.

Couple this approach with the ability to tell stories rather than recite facts, and you can put together presentations that will be appreciated, remembered, and best of all, acted upon."
